Once the child has learned about the classes of vertebrates, particularly the Amphibians, they might be interested in learning about the parts of the frog.
The frogs are pretty common species to experiment on in higher years, to study the internal organs of the animal. I would not elaborate on my experience with them but it was quite unpleasant, especially the pithing. Poor animals.
For younger children, they need not observe the real thing if they do not prefer so. But having a model to look at will help them have a more concrete grasp on the subject.
